NEW L-TRAP with LEDs
to illuminate the
photoluminescent plates
Light trap for monitoring the presence of
flying beetles in museums
and libraries.
(ANOBIUM PUNCTATUM, HYLOTRUPES BAJULUS,
STEGOBIUM PANICEUM, ATTAGENUS SMIRNOVI,
ANTHRENUS MUSEORUM, ANTHRENUS VERBASCI
AND OTHERS)
The trap may be set at any place, at the height of min. 1 m. The insect luring elements are photoluminescent plates, which emit green light, attracting beetles in the dark. The new trap version is equipped with 2 LEDs to periodically illuminate the photoluminescent material in the plates. Thus, L Trap 2 is ready for operation in conditions of no day- or artificial light.
For best monitoring results, it is recommended to set the traps in such places where the insects can see the green light well. The included batteries guarantee uninterrupted operation of the device for 60 days. After that time, the user has to change the batteries and the glue insert which captures the insects.
Photoluminescent material that is periodically exposed to light will emit the accumulated light energy in the dark. The photoluminescent plates are easily visible as light spots from around a dozen metres. Ideal for monitoring the presence of beetles from the Anobiidae and the Dermestidae family.
Captured several-millimetre-large beetles are visible on the trap glue surface. The photoluminescent plates are periodically illuminated by special LEDs installed in the housing.
This L-trap version can be used in total darkness - it is ideal in locations where access to daylight is hindered (window blinds, no windows at all, etc.).
