Monitoring

GS-TRAP
for monitoring the presence of the grey silverfish (Ctenolepisma longicaudata)

Ctenolepisma has features of both the Lepisma saccharina silverfish and the Thermobia domestica firebrat.
Adult individuals are much larger than the typical European silverfish.
Through the last decade it turned out that the grey silverfish activity is a threat to library and archive collections in some regions of Europe.
The entrance tunnels in the GS-trap are 3 times larger than the ones in the widely popular S-trap, but the GS-trap retains full functionality of its smaller equivalent.

Major features of GS-TRAP

  • (patented) design and structural solutions guaranteeing effective insect capturing.
  • food attractant - lure with unique formula, transparent material facilitating the observation of the caught insects.
  • closed structure protecting the trap interior from environmental conditions (clean trap interior facilitates the insect identification)
  • closed structure prevents accidental contact of glue with e.g. valuable collection items
  • durable, resistant structure.
